In the book “Causes of War”, the authors Levy, Jack S, and William R Thompson
define war as “sustained coordinated violence between political organisations” (1.). From my
perspective and as stated by the authors themselves the definition is broad; however, it could
be argued that the fundamental definition of war should be evolved and built upon as the
definition of war expands over time with more conflicts, new resolutions, advanced
inventions, and progression of conflict analysis.
It is important to emphasise the tactics of modern-day warfare especially the newfound
use of social media (with the shaping of narratives, spreading of misinformation and
disinformation and the pervasive use of propaganda in the media)…
