Conclusion
In summary, to understand the maximum pressure policy it is needed to look at the
past events which can impact further policy choices. The United States and Iran tensions have been growing since decades ago, but recently it reached a breaking point in the escalation of the conflict. After the assassination of the most important Iranian intelligence leader there is
no way of return and to avoid the consequences. Looking from a realist perspective, people strive for power and any kind of disputes are solved by force, which is in general part of their nature - the will to survive. The one of the most successful ways to survive is to be the most
powerful, and then a state is becoming secure it can start oppressing other states, since they are thinking mainly about their well-being and it is not possible increase one’s state security without decreasing others’.Trump showed his power when he withdrew from the agreement if JCPOA, stating that it is simply against US’s interests. This is one of the main thing realists believe in that state can never be completely sure what other states’ real interests and intentions are. However, it is very likely that in every international relations approach countries are doing what is most beneficial for them. Liberal school of thought states that countries that are not organised with the separation of power will fail and the United States was the first who established one in their policy. Since Donald Trump has been elected as a president the democratic aspect of the
country has been criticised, his expressions are more based on realist assumptions, that go against the liberalists school of thought. Also it is seen less of cooperation and interdependence, because the US will withdraw from the nuclear deal with Iran. These sanctions will only lead to conflict and tense situations. In this case when Iran does not have any nuclear deal with the US and their trade with other states goes down as well, the country has nothing to lose in a war situation and the US is not interdependent from Iran, which means that they are not interested in keeping good diplomatic relations. In order to solve this
particular situation there is a possibility to draft a new contract that would hopefully satisfy both countries and resolve disputes.…
