Escapists want to be fully immersed into the experience, to be an active participant, creating it. According to the information, published on resort’s homepage, owner wanted this to be a place for people, where to escape from daily routine and disconnect from the world. Resort offers huge range of activities, different each season, for escapists – skiing, sledging, snowboarding, safaris (with reindeers, huskies, even snowmobiles and snow tanks) and for summer – hiking, mushroom and berry picking, canoeing, etc. Yet few reviewers called this a ‘travel scam’. Kakslauttanen’s resort works with many local companies, which offer an incredible customer service, when it comes to tours, the catch to these offers is – guests must book these activities through the resort, paying extra 20 euros. Contacting local companies and booking activities directly, with picking up at the resort is strictly forbidden. Apart from these activities, that cost extra, there is really not much to do in Igloo, that guest paid 600 euros for. Wi-Fi, phone or TV are only available in common areas.

In resort is a huge idyllic chalet, so called Santa’s house, the odd thing is, guest has to book appointment to Santa in advance, even if the homepage does say – “Santa will be there to order”. …
