If four types of media (television, newspapers, internet and radio) are compared then television turns to be the most popular one. The number of households who own a Television Set has increased. “In 1950, only 10% of American homes had a television and by 1960 the percentage had grown to 90%. Today 99% of homes have a television”("Facts About Media Violence and Effects on the American Family"). This indicates that almost every human being observes the information provided on blue screens of television. Besides information about animals, daily news and newest products television also provides us with numerous materials that contains acts of violence. “By the age 18, average American child will be viewed about 200,000 acts of violence on television alone’’(American Academy of Pediatrics). The segment of the society that is traumatized from the television violence the most are children, because they cannot really distinguish the real life and fantasy. Media Violence is a great threat to children as it influences their thinking and personal growth by increasing aggressiveness and antisocial behavior, increasing fear of becoming victims, causing desensitization toward real life violence and increasing their appetite for more violence in entertainment.…
