Summary
World goes mad, because of oil, electricity and natural gas decreasing reserves. Those are three big necessities, three times as many chances to get some goods from them. However, the world is made to be involved on a continuous way of development. We have chosen to combat with the usage of fossil fuels and support its replacement with renewable natural resource – Bio-Oil of woodchip . Woodchip is available in every country, which has wood resources (see diagram 1). But the most important thing is to find a way, how to use the given wood resources – usefully. We will do research for possibilities how to use our alternative in accordance with rational use of wood resources. Getting energy from wood surplus is very perspective idea in Latvia, taking into account our wood resources. There are a lot of countries that could use energy from woodchip, for example, our neighbouring countries – Estonia and Lithuania, North America’s region – the USA, Canada, some woody European countries - Great Britain, Finland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic. And as well as countries, located in warm latitudes, like Spain and France, which, actually, would have a bigger advantages of producing Bio-Oil. Even in Russia if only it would be ready to admit that reserves of fossil fuel’s resources are decreasing.
Problem, cause and consequence:
Increasing air temperature – for now it is the biggest problem of our planet. It has made a big agiotage about global warming, glacier melting, White bears extinction etc. However, there is always the basis for everything. The average temperature on the Earth’s surface has increased up to 0.6 degrees by Celsius (plus/minus 0.2 degrees) during the 20th century. Till now it has affected on both – glaciers – Larsen glacier had been divided into icebergs in time of 35 days , mantle of snow on the planet has decreased for about 10% since 1960s, marine ice has become thinner for about 40% since the start of the 20th century, and - ocean – the level of the world’s ocean has risen up to 10-20 cm since 1950s.
