The Victorian age

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.
Today I will give you a glimpse of the Victorian age and on the one hand, its powerful impact on what we see as common things in our everyday life, on the other hand, unimaginable things for us in 21 (the twenty-first) century.

I am going to look at the 5 main directions of the Victorian age.
Firstly, I will talk about Political background, secondly - Development of the economy, thirdly - Culture, art, and literature, fourthly - everyday life. And last but not least Victorian Etiquette rules and values.
As I mentioned, I will start with the political background. Although I knew that for some time in history, the UK was a big and powerful empire, now it seems unreal, when looking at the map, its colonies cover almost half of the world.…
