Swim styles
In competitive swimming, four major styles have been established. These have been relatively stable over the last 30–40 years with minor improvements. They are:
Butterfly
Backstroke
Breaststroke
Freestyle

Rules
The technical rules of swimming are designed to provide fair and equitable conditions for competition and to promote uniformity in the sport. Each swimming stroke has specific rules designed to ensure that no swimmer gets an unfair competitive advantage over another swimmer.

Training places
In-door and out-door swimming pools.
In outdoor swimming such places as lakes and seas, and other body of water can be used.
