The Brandenburger Tor also known as the Brandenburg Gate is one of Berlin's most visited attractions and one that once symbolized the divided city of Berlin for many years. Today considered not only as a symbol of the history of Europe and Germany, but also of European unity and peace.
Checkpoint Charlie was the most famous crossing point at the Berlin’s Wall from East Berlin and West Berlin during the Cold War. Visitors can also read about the people that put their lives in danger simply to escape. The museum also serves to help people remember those who died trying to escape through the Berlin Wall.
A well-known family friendly attraction in Berlin is the Berlin Zoo. This zoo holds 13,700 animals from different species and boasts with coffee shops, restaurants and a playground. The zoo was the first zoo ever to be built in Germany.
During this trip I picked up some new skills. I learned how to be flexible, navigate through the city with a map and learned to be responsible with money.
