There are fifteen official languages in India, including Hindi, Sanskrit, Bengali and English. Hindi is considered national language.
Religion
Hinduism is often called the "oldest living religion". Ganesha is the most worshipped Hindu lord. He is the Lord of success and destroyer of evils and obstacles. He is also worshipped as the god of education, knowledge, wisdom and wealth. Ganesha is one of the five prime Hindu deities1.
Varanasi is the holiest place in the world in Hinduism. The city has been a cultural and religious centre in North India for several thousand years.
Sikhism is comparatively new religion in India and it was established in the 15th century.

Kumbh Mela is Hindu pilgrim festival. Different tipes of Kumbh Mela are celebrated every four, six, twelwe or 144 years.
Holi is a spring religious festival celebrated by Hindus.
Diwali2, popularly known as the "festival of lights", is an important five-day festival in Hinduism and Sikhism. It’s a celebration of victory over evil. Diwali is an official holiday in India.
