Chocolate

The word “chocolate” entered the English language from Spanish. There are many explanations how this word came into Spanish. The most popular explanation is that “chocolate” comes from the Aztecs, from the word "chocolatl" or "xocolatl“. “Xococ” meaning is sour or bitter, but “atl” meaning is water or drink.
History
Cacao has been cultivated for at least three thousand years in Mexico, Central and South America. It was used as a drink or as an ingredient to food.
