Lauris Reiniks is one of the biggest pop-music and television stars in Latvia , born on July 11, 1979 , in Dobele , Latvia . He has graduated from Dobele children music school and Jelgava Music College . Lauris is not just a singer, but also a talented songwriter having 4 solo albums in his credit consisting of many popular hit songs in Latvia and one album with a Eurovision project F.L.Y. Many awards, international experience, huge television experience, commercials and acting - all that describes areas where Lauris has proved himself as a successful artist in the Latvian show-business.
Lauris' first appearance on television was at the age of five, singing in a show called “The neighbours meet”. As a kid and teenager, Lauris was a soloist in a rock group called “AURI” formed by his father Arturs. With "AURI” Lauris got his first stage experience, participating in different children music festivals, contests and other musical activities.
The Reiniks family was one of the most active singing families on the National TV broadcast “SPIETS”, which brought together musical families from all over Latvia . They not only participated in this show, but also gave family concerts around the country. Later Lauris formed a duet with his “AURI” partner Lelde and in 1999 they represented Latvian Television at the International pop music festival in Konin , Poland , organized by Polish TV.
In 1999 and 2000 Lauris began to work with the distinguished composer Raimonds Pauls , singing as a soloist in the musical projects “Zinge” in Kraslava, “The Ventspils Sea Festival” and “Christmas at the Opera with Maestro Raimonds Pauls”. Several songs from these projects have been included on albums that have been issued by Radio Latvia .
2001- Lauris signs a contract with "Aktiv Music" - a production and management company. Next 3 years their team works with singer's management and musical producing. In 2001, Lauris together with singer Linda Leen participates in the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest (Eurosong), performing a song "I Wish I Knew", written by Lauris . The song finished second with only 2 points behind the winner. …
