3. What are the sources of capital for Wizards? What implications do this have for the future strategy of the company?
Sources of capital for Wizard are their increased sales, royalties and investments. In addition, The Game Center, Magazine "The Duelist" and Internet brought large profit to the company. For the future, the company needs to keep their sales increased or at least in stay in a stable position; if not, then the capital will decrease.
4. What were some of the challenges Wizards experienced as a result of its tremendous growth?
Company was challenged in many ways, first by its employees and independent designers. Company did not have control over the retailers in selling cards, and as the company grew it needed a larger office.
5. What would you do given the situation in mid 1997 described in case? If you chose to end the game, how would you go about it? What path would you pursue? Why?
I would try to develop a new type of game. I would try to keep up with changing times and needs of the customers. I would not choose to end the game because the game was so popular.
