Wetland preservation can be considered only one part of the wetland conservation effort. Education, motivation and legislation also play very important roles in the preservation of such delicate ecological systems. There are numerous wetland policies and laws within the nation and each individual state. It is our individual responsibility, and together as a Nation, to act accordingly with current National and Local wetland laws and to inform, motivate and educate others about such wetland issues. Taking such a leap can possibly be the first step to changing the behaviors associated with environmental destructive actions.
On a more personal note, I did not come into college with a great amount of environmental awareness. I knew the standards of recycling and minimizing ozone depleting product usage, nothing more. Thought this class, the education and awareness I have obtained has far expanded what I thought it would consist of. It is interesting to hear viewpoints of other through their own individual experiences or through reading stories or magazine articles that address such environmental issues. …
