Three Men in a Boat (to say nothing of the dog) is an account of a boating trip on the Thames undertaken by three friends – Jerome, Harris and George – and a fox terrier Montmorency. It features several expertly written meditations, ranging from the mystical to the informative, solemn and in my opinion boring, on life and history.
The main story is of three men and dog who are traveling down the Thames and visit some towns. They are accompanied by their dog Montmorency (whose IQ doesn't seem to be much less than his human company). During the trip they have many, to my mind, dull incidents.…
