The Great Gatsby – one hundred years later.
Comparing the 1920's and 2020's, a lot has changed. The fashion, music and lifestyle are
different now, but values and society, by my thoughts, are pretty much the same as they
were then. One huge issue that is raised in “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald is that
people were not satisfied enough with what they already had. This problem nowadays can
be seen really often and clearly. Also another issue that, I believe, has not changed, is the
class division and traits of those societies.
Firstly, as good as the character personalities in the book were described, I did not
understand some of their actions. For example, Jay Gatsby was, I think, the most interesting
one. I always saw him to be somehow dissatisfied. From one point of the view, he got all he
could ask for- friends, wealth and even fortune, great health and so on. …
