As the Communications of the ACM magazine has an over 50 years of recognised reputation of a trusted and knowledgeable source of information, and the main author Michael Armbrust, has practical work experience in Google and Microsoft and outstanding academic record, I would use this paper to compare and contrast some of the authors’ ideas in my dissertation. Moreover, the authors strengthen the paper’s credibility and originality by beginning the paper with the quote of Larry Ellison – the co-founder of Oracle Corporation, the leading software maker.
iii. The accessibility of the paper
The paper is not very accessible to the general public and students with no in-depth knowledge of technological and computing aspect, as it is written in a very technical language with some complicated computing terms and definitions. Moreover the paper is not organised well and does not have a coherent and cohesive structure: authors switch from one idea to another and often repeat the same discussions several times.
