It has become an unfortunate trend, in this century especially, to view the term "tyranny" and "tyrant" as terms more profane than the most extreme expletive. Throughout the 20th century, nauseatingly incessant, bland, and liberally idealized excess has been erroneously dedicated to provide evidence unto the supposed superiority of democracy, and with it a democratic society.
