"Memories of My Melancholy Whores" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez

The old man goes away, but while talking to Rosa Cabarcas he realizes that not only he loves Delgadina, but she has feelings for him too. In the end of his life the narrator finally finds love.
In my opinion the main idea of this novel is that even in the end of your life you can find something that you have been missing your whole lifetime. All his life the narrator never has been in love, but he finds it in the brothel at the age of ninety. It shows that it is possible to find what you are looking for even then when you have already stopped looking. From the other hand this novel is about growing. About personal growth, that becomes only after important events in your life.
