Latvia in the European Union: Advantages and Disadvantages

For one, there is still a division in EU. While thanks to EU, war in European continent is impossible, it still hasn’t stopped the rise of populism. As EU is multi-cultural union, it holds many different cultures and people’s ideas, which may not seem eye to eye to each other. And not always is it possible to reconcile their differences. Not mention political and economic differences between east and west are still highly visible. And has made many people in Latvia feeling that they are not as much important as their western counterparts.
Finally, EU can suffer from a lack of transparency with her own people. As EU is highly complex organism, it can’t explain every detail to EU citizens. But its sometimes feels like that they event don’t want to try to explain the complexity. Which makes easy to spread misinformation about EU structure, to her citizens.
To finalise my words, I still believe that it our best options to stay and further integrate in EU. As maybe someday it will become something much more.
