In next few minutes I would like to steal your attention to take you in a short and at the same time long journey of cinematography’s development.
I will start with the definition of Cinematography – it is the illusion of movement by the rapid projection of many still photographic pictures on a screen.
No one person invented cinema. However in 1893 the Edison Company successfully demonstrated Kinetoscope, which enabled one person at a time to view moving pictures. When in 1894 brothers Lumieres saw Edisnon’s kinetoscope in Paris, they decided to design their own camera. The first public screening of one of the Lumieres’ films was given on 28 December 1895 in Paris. This date is often taken to mark the birth of the cinema. After the screening, the brothers began commercial production of their camera, which was soon in the demand across the world. The age of the cinema had begun.
At first films were very short, sometimes only a few minutes. They were shown in places where screen could be set up and a room darkened.…
