Channel No 2: Telemarketing
Telemarketing uses the telephone to sell directly to consumers. It has become a primary direct marketing tool. Many use outbound telephone marketing in a proactive way to generate and qualify sales leads, and sell directly to consumers and businesses. We may use the telephone calls as a means for research, testing, database building or appointment making, as a follow-up to a previous contact, or as part of motivation or consumer-care program. There is also inbound freephone numbers to receive orders from customers. These calls are usually made in response to an advertisement in the press, on radio or television, in a door drop or direct mailing and in catalogues. With the help of this alternative channel we can use the telephone calls in order to come closer to our potential customers and inform them better of our products. But this is a very good alternative channel as to the ability of reaching consumers because as it was mentioned earlier we can talk to them directly and ask for their needs.
