What is a climate? "Climate" is a very general term that has a variety of closely related meanings. Usually, "climate" refers to the average, or typical, weather conditions observed over a long period of time for a given area. The climate is one of the main characteristics of a country and it plays very important role in agriculture, tourism and lifestyle of the inhabitants. Latvia and Great Britain are on far enough distance from each other: Latvia is in the East of Europe, but the Great Britain is in the West of Europe. Despite this fact, these two countries have several common aspects regarding to their climate.
First, both in Latvia and Great Britain the climate is created by Atlantic air masses which carry the warmth and moisture into these countries. Consequently, the climate is mild, temperate and humid. This humid and mild climate is good for plants. The trees and flowers begin to blossom early in spring. Duration of the vegetative period and quantity of heat is enough for cultivation of many agricultural crops in both countries.…
