Since the Declaration of Independence was written our motto for society has been the right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness. What if a person's happiness or ways of attaining or pursuing happiness has run out and all there is left is a life of pain and misery for the person to endure. Since we have the right to life, should we not have the right to end that life if it becomes unbearable and full of pain and misery? If a doctor has diagnosed a patient to be terminally ill with only a year or so left to live, that individual should have the right to choose whether or not to continue living in the current conditions or whether to die peacefully and with dignity through a process called Euthanasia. The family of a patient in a "vegetable" state should also have the choice on whether or not to pull the plug on a member of the family if they have been diagnosed as brain dead by definition. There are also many other reasons that a family or an individual patient to consider going through with Euthanasia, such as medical costs and the pain that the individual is enduring. There also are several different types of Euthanasia and many factors that a doctor should consider before acting on the process. Death should be a personal choice because it's supposed to be without unnecessary pain and suffering. Death should also be peaceful and with dignity.…
