I chose to explore and compare the Eisenhower’s ad “Union Member”, which has been showed to the audience in 1956, and Bush’s campaigns in 2004 ad “Victory”. Both of them have a lot in common, however, there can be easily seen some significant changes during the time period of almost fifty years.
To begin with, the thing that has not changed despite the quite long time is the usage of short sentences to deliver necessary information to audience in a way so that everybody could understand. The language in adverts is formal except the one sentence in “Union member”, when the speaker says “Yeah?”. Both of the texts also contain positive words such as piece, freedom, democracy etc.
